Dan Woodhouse, our Head Chef, uses the very best of seasonal local ingredients in his cooking and when served in the Riverside Brasserie you have all of the components for a truly magical party or wedding day.
What is the maximum number we can have for a seated function or wedding?
If your party is over 50 guests you will require private use of the Riverside Brasserie, we can accommodate 100 guests for a seated function that includes a dance floor however some tables will need to be removed during coffee. Parties of 80 can be accommodated with no disturbance to the room during the event.
How do we choose our food and drink?
Parties over 50 will require either a buffet or a set menu. To enable guests to confirm set menu choices at the time of booking we have a selection of 16 dishes for each course; 4 from each season. The 4 dishes that will be in season at the time of your event would always be our recommendations on the basis of taste and price.
You are perfectly welcome to choose other dishes from the selection that are out of season however due to market availability they will be more expensive and in extreme cases may not be available. All dish prices are subject to confirmation 28 days before your event.
You can choose any wine from our full list to accompany your meal. Our Riverside Brasserie manager will be delighted to suggest some good matches for your menu.
Can we decorate the venue?
Yes you can however more common with wedding parties, floral arrangements must be delivered and removed on the day of your function by your florist. No public areas can be decorated.
What about live music?
You will need to arrange for the band or DJ to visit before your event so they can see the space you have chosen and examine the power supplies.
Can we provide our own food and drink?
No. Whilst we appreciate the potential benefits to our customers of providing their own goods we do not allow it simply because we want to ensure the quality of any product that is served to guests under our roof.
What will it cost?
We do not apply any hire charges in the Riverside Brasserie; instead we ask guests for a minimum spend. The minimum spend is a realistic figure of what we would expect to take from a fully booked lunch or dinner service should we be open to the public and effectively gives you credit to spend on food and drink as you see fit.
Riverside Brasserie minimum spend schedule
£6,000 – Friday dinner, Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays lunch or dinner
£4,000 – All other times
Lunch functions run from Midday to 5pm and dinner functions from 7pm to midnight.
Earlier starting times for dinner functions are welcomed however we are unable to hold a lunch service and prepare the Riverside Brasserie for a function that starts before 7pm. If you would like an earlier starting time, a £2000 compensation fee will be applied to account for our lost lunchtime service and gives you private use of the space all day.
Minimum spend functions are subject to a 10% compulsory gratuity of the minimum spend figure.
A deposit of £1000 is required to secure any booking along with a signed copy of our Terms and Conditions. The full amount including the gratuity is required 14 days before the event.
